Part 1-Italy

Jason and I spent his first week back from deployment touring Italy. My #1 'place to go' during our time overseas :) It was absolutely beautiful! We spent 4days in Rome and 3days in Venice. Both of our hotels were in great locations, which allowed us to walk to most of the major sites. We took a train between the two cities. The train was a good experience, but it was the first time I have seen my feet swell during pregnancy...not a nice feeling.
We ate great food in both cities...pizza, pasta, and gelato. Jason discovered a new love of Gelato. Most places would allow us to try as many as 3 flavors at once and Jason took full advantage at least once a day! Rome has some of the most amazing sites and shopping (if you're willing to pay the right price)! As is custom, we took a Gondola ride through the canals of Venice. There are no roads in Venice-no cars, bikes or motorcycles allowed. Walking and water taxis are the only way to get around the small island.
Baby Boy enjoyed his vacation as well, but he had limited patience for the boats in Venice so we rode them in short intervals to keep my stomach calm and happy.
