After scanning my belly to view the baby's head, heart, arms and legs, the ultrasound tech went searching for the gender specific parts. She didn't have to look very long when we saw an "extra part" between our little baby's legs...it was definitely a boy! While Jason has been convinced from the start that our Peanut was a boy, I was not so sure until the past few weeks when my mind began to whisper thoughts of a little guy into my head. Sure enough, there he was!
I met Jason on skype Sunday evening and he was obviously thrilled and so proud to be hear the news about "his" boy! Of course, he immediately mentioned buying two dirt bikes and all the other fun "boy toys" that the two of them will share together :) We'll see...
It was so amazing to see our baby's heart beating and the blood flowing through the different chambers. We also watched him opening his mouth and swallowing amniotic fluid (which is good practice for breathing oxygen later on). He is such a precious little baby, what an awesome experience to see him growing and moving in my belly! I still have not felt him moving around, but the tech mentioned that my placenta is currently located in the front of my uterus which could be providing some extra cushion between me and the baby. The entire scan was probably less than 15 minutes, but it was such a wonderful blessing to see our Peanut and how HE is developing. Now for the shopping...
